Make a rough draft publication-ready in no time

Fast. Reliable. Quality. No-fuss.

Publishing teams have to churn out quality, engaging content at warp speed.

Whether part of a digital or print publication, they have content targets to hit every day, week, and month, on strict deadlines.

The writers and editors who comprise these teams understand the value of editing. They know it’s key to publishing creative, informative content with integrity (especially in journalism). It saves them from any error, inconsistency, or gap that deters readers from enjoying and trusting the content.

But publishing teams barely have enough time to write creative content, let alone finesse it before the due date.

Even if there were time, each writer and editor has likely discussed, reviewed, and redrafted the words so repeatedly that they can’t be objectively critical.

And these teams definitely don’t have time to train an editor.

That’s where Pristine Editing comes in. Jaime at Pristine Editing takes your content from 85 percent to 100 percent, without slowing down your production cycle. Her professional editing services engage loyal readers and uphold your incredible reputation.

How I can help

When you want…

Copyediting

Technical, sentence-level edits to correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, repetition, and style

Includes:

  • A light fact-check for correctly spelled names, job titles, and other proper nouns

  • Sensitivity feedback regarding race, culture, and gender inclusivity (Pristine Editing and agencies can discuss what this looks like)

Best for: final drafts that need a polish or light scrub before publication

Copyediting + Style Guide

Copyediting, plus the creation and management of an editorial style guide

A style guide reflects the style and voice of the publication and ensures consistency across content.

Pristine Editing develops the style guide by reviewing the publication’s existing content and recording its preferences over time.

Best for: publications that need copyediting and want a long-term partnership with Pristine Editing

The Deep Clean

Substantive or line editing addresses structure and organization, wordiness, awkward or confusing phrasing, and clarity and consistency of ideas and story lines

Includes:

  • Comments that explain questions, issues, or concerns and suggest a fix when possible

Best for: content that has been through several iterations and needs in-depth feedback and edits on lingering substantive issues, plus a final polish before publication
